Rookie football player Edwin Harrison was always told he looked like his grandfather, Calvin Jones. Jones was arguably one of the best linemen to play the game, the first African American to make the cover of Sports Illustrated, and an all star rookie with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers.
But Edwin’s family always refused to talk about Calvin. All they would tell Edwin was that his grandfather was killed in a plane crash.
Now, 55 years after his grandfather’s death, Edwin has decided to begin a journey to find out who his grandfather really was and solve the mystery surrounding his death.
What he discovers is not only the tragic story of a plane crash that took the lives of five all star CFL players, but the surprising truth about his own family and the extraordinary football legacy that he embodies.
